Over one million parcels have been delivered through the nationwide Pakettipiste network of Lehtipiste Oy, a Finnish distribution and marketing company for newspapers and magazines. The parcel locker network currently has around 300 active locations across Finland.

Lehtipiste distributes tabloids, magazines, books and collectibles to points of sales. In October 2018, the Finnish company launched Pakettipiste, a network it uses to provide nationwide parcel logistics services for online retailers.

1,100 parcel lockers in 300 locations

Since then, more than one million parcels have gone through the network, which uses 1,100 parcel lockers from Swipbox, a company that also saw an extra 2,000 of its lockers installed across Denmark since last month.

Through the Pakettipiste network, customers can pick up their parcels from multiple carriers. This means they can also collect several parcels at once. Currently, the carriers Matkahoulto, Pakettipiste and DHL are part of this network, but more logistics providers are singing up to deliver in the near future. For example, DB Schenker will start deliveries already this month.

Double the number of lockets in 2020

Currently, Pakkettipiste uses 1,100 Swipbox lockers in around 300 locations across Finland, but more locations and lockers will be added next year. The goal is to double the number of Pakettipiste lockers in 2020.
